Hear the personal experiences, challenges and philosophies of these arts practitioners, whose work push artistic frontiers, inform our identity as a society, and nurture art-makers of tomorrow.

In a place of many conflicting influences - east meets west, tradition clashes with the contemporary, how do we begin defining what it means for arts to be local? How does a work of art become a part of our canon, and why is this important in the first place? Join three of this year’s Cultural Medallion recipients as they talk about their artistic work in the fields of music, theatre and visual arts, and what it means to them for art to be Singaporean.

    Featuring:
    Jennifer Tham (Music)
    Thirunalan Sasitharan (Theatre)
    Ho Ho Ying (Visual Arts)

    Moderated by:
    Kwok Kian Woon
