The Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award 2012 is open for applications
The Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award is an endowed Fund administerd by the Community Foundation of Singapore, to commemorate the birth centenary of Goh Soon Tioe (1911-1982), Singapore's pioneer violinist, pedagogue, impresario and conductor.
The award of $4000 will be given to a violinist or string player who has shown a consistent track record of outstanding musicianship and performance. The award may be used towards rees at a musical institution locally or abroad, music tuition fees, recital expenses, attendance at music camps or festivals, overseas orchestra projects, music competitions, purchase of sheet music or instrument, or other purposes deemed suitable by the selection committee. Singapore citizens or Singapore PR born between 1987 and 1996 may apply. Priority will be given to violinists who are Singapore citizens.
